Washi Tape Earrings

Washi Tape Earrings

Are you mad for washi? Here's a simple way of making earrings with washi tape.

A few of the tools and materials required:  Disc cutter, sheet metal, hammer, pliers, hole punch, washi tape, Mod Podge Dimensional Magic, jumprings and ear wires.

The washi tape should be applied to clean sheet metal on both sides. Once a pattern is lined up, the die goes in and the hammer comes down. Aluminum is quite soft so one to two good whacks usually does it. This is also particularly therapeutic if having a bad day.

Punch holes close to the edge on each disc. Slowly add drops of the Mod Podge Dimensional Magic until the surface is covered. I found this to be a little tricky and added too much which filled in the punched hole on one of them! Leave to dry and repeat on other side.

Lastly, add jump rings and ear wires and they are ready to go.

These earrings are so quick an easy to make that I've done several pairs already. I can see this getting addictive!

Have you done anything similar with washi tape? Please share!
